Join us for a day of yoga and supporting Lettuce Learn school gardens across Watauga County! Lettuce Learn, a program of Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture (BRWIA), support teachers, child care professionals, and school leaders to create edible landscapes for learning, by providing help where they need it most: staff, training, and resources.
Let's put our imagination to work as we walk and talk with foodscaping expert, Brie Arthur, to re-imagine downtown public spaces as places where we can create a model of community development that incorporates sustainable, local food production.
This School Garden Leadership Conference is for formal and informal educators to learn about how to incorporate "foodscaping" (ie. edible landscaping) into your personal or school garden and how to utilize the space as a learning environment for children in grades K-8.
